The legendary CAMP LO and one of the world’s fastest Reggae/Hip Hop Mcs CHIP FU will embark on a Christmas tour in December to promote their forthcoming releases.
The Bronx-based duo of Sonny Cheeba and Geechie Suede better known as CAMP LO are back with their current release “Stone and Rob: Caught On Tape” and forthcoming album “A Piece of the Action” on SRC/Universal Records scheduled for December 09.
With their unique blend of Funk, RnB, Soul, fat beats and distinctive Blaxploitation-style Dadaist slang they took dancefloors by storm with crossover hits such as “Luchini” and “Coolie High”. Both albums “Uptown Saturday Night” and “Lets do it again” are classics.
The first album’s 70s-style content was influential on a number of artists within the next few years after its release, like Will Smith, who featured Camp Lo for an appearance on his top-selling Big Willie Style album.
Over the last years they collaborated with Hip Hop legends De La Soul, Digable Planets, Aesop Rock, Kidz in the Hall and others.
CHIP FU is the quick-witted, rhyme-spittin’ frontman of the platinum selling Hip Hop group the Fu Schnickens, the first group produced by A TRIBE CALLED QUEST.
Chip Fu’s ability to twist and turn words at super-hyper speeds and even to rap backwards! made him a mainstream star with albums such as Don’t Take It Personal, Nervous Breakdown and the top 40 hit record “What’s Up Doc? (Can We Rock)”, featuring NBA superstar and self-proclaimed Fu-Schnickens “biggest” fan Shaquille O’Neal.
Having collaborated with industry heavy weighters from Queen Latifah to Nas, he is bouncing back with a heavy Hip Hop/Reggae flavoured new solo album entitled “M.A2.T.H.“, (Music, Appreciation, Art, Time and Healing) with hitbeatmakers Ali Shaheed (Tribe Called Quest), Needlez + Illmind (50 Cent, Ludacris), Da Beatminerz (Blackmoon, Boot Camp Click), Blackmilk and others.
